Brett Beaman is a passionate, dedicated, and experienced music educator and flutist. He is the former principal flutist for the Symphonic Youth Orchestra of Greater Indianapolis (SYO) which features outstanding middle and high school musicians from central Indiana. Currently, he is continuing his involvement with SYO through a college internship and traveled with them to their premiere performance in Carnegie Hall in 2017. In addition to the orchestra, Brett has performed with various flute choirs throughout his high school and college careers. He also performed with the Ball State Symphony Band, Concert Band, Campus Orchestra, basketball band, and marching band.​ He was awarded "Outstanding Student Leader" in the Ball State "Pride of Mid-America" Marching Band in 2018. He currently performs with the Greater Greenwood Community Band.

As an educator, Brett is always looking for new ways to expand his knowledge and inspire his students. He currently serving as Director of Bands at Indian Creek Middle School. He is also on staff with the Franklin Community Indoor Percussion, where he serves as the cymbal tech. Prior to these roles, he pursued his student teaching at Center Grove High School. While at Ball State he served as the head piccolo section leader for Ball State’s Pride of Mid-America marching band. He also was on staff of Decatur Central High School’s marching band as the flute technician. Brett maintained an active involvement in student organizations on campus through managing Ball State's chapter of the National Band Association as well as the Ball State Flute Guild as President of both organizations. At Ball State University he graduated with a Bachelor in Music Education and a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Music, as a student of Dr. Mihoko Watanabe.
